Steeplechase is a subdivision of 148 lots just a few miles west of town near FM121 and FM3356. Homes here were first built-in the early 90s.
It is a beautiful area with acre lots, wooded areas & natural ponds in some back yards and very well-kept homes. The minimum house size is restricted to 2000 sf. In the last year, sales have ranged from 2200 sf to over 4000 sf.
There is the Steeplechase HOA but the annual rates are very low, in the $100 per year range. If you like to golf you are only a few miles east of a Fred Couples designed golf course at The Bridges. The subdivision is only a few miles west of Van Alstyne and offers easy access to FM121 as well as a back way to Hwy 75 by taking Hwy 3356.
While it is an older area, it is still one of the most popular subdivisions due to the nice homes and the character of the land. The La Cima restaurant is nearby and there are new subdivisions close by on FM3466, Majors and Farmington Road so it is a growing area.
